I have been planning for more than a month to be at our Stake Relief Society Luncheon with John Bytheway. I read 3 or 4 of his books as a teenager and seen him on the BYU Channel a few times, and I knew that this is one function I didn't want to miss. (Did you know he has more then 45 items for sale at Desseret Book?)
Well the problem was this:
A. I didn't want to go alone. For those of you that know me, which I hope you know me if your reading this, know that I can be shy till I get to know you. Our ward is big and women can be "clicky" if you catch my drift- so I called up my mom and begged her to go with me.
B. I didn't have a babysitter. Big problem. I am not going to call up a complete stranger just because they may be between the ages of 12 and 18 and in our ward. (otherwise known as Young Women)
To make a long story short I emailed my cousin Dani and asked her to ride down with my mom and be my babysitter. I thought it would be a long shot since it was only a 2 day notice and on a Saturday. But Dani was happy to come!
John Bytheway was awesome. I love his sense of humor! What a privilege it was to hear him speak in person and feel his spirit. I wish Tyson could have been there because trying to repeat what he said and how he said it is nearly impossible. I'm so glad I didn't give up and decide at the last minute not to go.
We had a great time with Grandma Terri and Dani. We went to Pizza Hut, came home and worked out to my Pilates DVD, (pretty sure they werent able to walk the next day), and walked the Canyon. It's so fun to have visitors from home! We miss everybody! It was a great weekend.
