Historic Helena

Kennedy and Tyson riding the Tour Train. These are some of the beautiful mansions in Helena. Helena was originally called Last Chance. The story: Four men from Georgia came to Montana to mine for gold. After having no luck they decided to stay the night in Helena before heading back East. Well that night they panned for gold one last time, not really planning on finding anything. Well to make a long story short, they struck gold, and became instant millionaires. There are streets named Last Chance here today and a grade school called The Four Georgians. Tyson joked when we first moved here that they can now rename that school The Five Georgians. Now if we could only strike it rich and live in one of these mansions......

The "Conductor" on the Tour Train told us a story about this Catholic Cathedral. A man flew his airplane right between the two spires and later they found out that he only had about 2 inches to spare. He lost his pilots license for the stunt. But it's still a good story. =)

When we first moved here the girls and I went for a drive to explore the mountains. These are some of the homes we saw.
